Rhonda Maraziti

INSIDE Public Accounting and the Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM) is presenting a free webinar to members from 1 to 2:15 p.m. Eastern, Aug. 16: “Driving New Business: Top Tips from AAM’s 2016 Marketer of the Year.”

Rhonda Maraziti, chief marketing officer for Princeton, N.J.-based WithumSmith+Brown, and her marketing team are credited with growing the firm to become one of the largest in the nation. Ranked No. 28 on the 2015 IPA 100 list, Maraziti’s contribution to the firm’s growth led her to earn AAM’s prestigious 2016 Marketer of the Year award, which is sponsored by IPA.

Her presentation will include a brief overview of her career and a discussion about her marketing and business development efforts at Withum, which now has 14 offices up and down the East Coast, from Boston to Orlando, Fla., new practice areas and an expanded management consulting practice.

Rhonda launched the firm’s niche marketing strategy, heads up growth for 12 industry niches and eight practice lines and has been credited with being “instrumental” in the firm’s 9% growth rate. She will share specifics of particularly successful campaigns, including clips of Withum’s 2012 “Party Rock” flash mob video that’s been viewed more than 70,000 times!

IPA editor Christina Camara will interview Maraziti in this webinar to find out how she:

  • Increased brand awareness of Withum in a crowded marketplace
  • Made thought leaders out of partners who head various practices
  • Strategically marketed niches to generate new business for the firm

Rhonda will answer questions throughout the session so participants can gain a greater understanding of her approach to marketing and business development. This webinar, offered at no cost to AAM members, should benefit both entry-level marketers and experienced professionals alike. Register today.

NASBA CPT Launches Ethics Certification for Business Professionals

The NASBA Center for the Public Trust (CPT) announced the launch of its Ethical Leadership Training and Certification for business professionals. This online, self-paced and interactive program consists of three training modules that discuss ethical culture, leadership and strategy. Each of the three modules is interspersed with dynamic videos, real world ethical dilemmas discussed by subject matter experts, as well as quizzes to gauge the participant’s understanding. Participants can take the modules individually, or as whole, to earn the ethical leadership certification.

Since 2005, the CPT has encouraged leaders to support ethical business practices, by conducting a variety of collegiate and professional programs including the Student Ethical Leadership Certification, launched in 2014. The success of the student certification led the CPT to pursue the development of a certification for business professionals.

“Ethical decision-making is one of the most important components of sustained business success,” says CPT president Alfonzo Alexander. “This training and certification program is designed to help employees recognize ethical issues, resolve ethical dilemmas and create an atmosphere that promotes positive ethical behavior in organizations. At the end of the program, users will have a clear understanding of why ethical leadership is important to both business and career success,” he added.

Based on best practices from successful organizations as well as common corporate weaknesses, culture, leadership and strategy serve as the overarching themes discussed throughout the certification. The three sections are, Culture Matters, Leadership and Strategy Matters.

The 2015 IPA Best of the Best Firms to Watch

For more than 20 years, INSIDE Public Accounting (IPA) has named the Best of the Best – those firms that have turned in exceptional financial and operational performance on more than 70 metrics.Best of Best 2015

The Best of the Best recognition honors 50 CPA firms across the country. The Best of the Best Firms to Watch list picks up where the IPA Best of the Best leaves off and names 15 more firms that rank in the top 12% of all participants in IPA’s Annual Survey and Analysis of Firms.

With more and more firms participating in the IPA survey, it’s only fitting to expand the Best of the Best accolade to those firms who scored exceptionally well, but missed the mark by less than 10-15 points.

These firms, selected from more than 500 firms, are successful, both financially and operationally, and they consistently perform well in any economy, focusing on excellent client service, professional development and long-range planning. They come in all sizes and are dispersed throughout the country.

“These are firms that we hope will appear on the Best of the Best list in 2016,” says Kelly Platt, principal of the Platt Group and publisher of the award-winning trade publication, INSIDE Public Accounting. “They are firms to keep an eye on for best practices and stellar growth in the future.”
