Atlanta-based Moore Colson (FY18 net revenue of $26.6 million) has announced the admittance of Steven Bailey to the partnership ranks.

Bailey joined Moore Colson in 2010 and was promoted to business assurance director in 2018. He leads audit and assurance engagements for clients in the construction, transportation, software, technology and health care industries. He also has extensive experience in providing transaction advisory services.

Moore Colson Joins Technology and Startup Incubator

Atlanta-based Moore Colson (FY18 net revenue of $26.6 million) has joined Digital Ignition of Alpharetta, Ga., an incubator that provides services to new tech companies.

Digital Ignition was first launched in 2016 as a co-working space, but over the last year, officials have expanded the offerings to include attorney, accounting and other incubation services.

Moore Colson says firm experts are on site during regular office hours to assist startups and established companies with accounting-related support. Staff are experts in the specialized financial reporting, tax and IT control requirements facing tech companies, the firm says.

Moore Colson Admits Eric Ratliff to Partnership

Marietta, Ga.-based Moore Colson (FY17 net revenue of $22.1 million) has admitted Eric Ratliff as a partner.

Ratliff joins Moore Colson’s tax practice with over 13 years of income, estate and trust tax planning experience including working with numerous financial institutions, individuals and families to create strategic tax structuring and business planning solutions.

In 2005, he worked as the principal attorney and solicitor for law offices in Tennessee, where he focused on estate and business planning, international and domestic taxes, PPACA compliance, consulting, and employee benefits and tax planning. In 2011, Eric co-founded a chartered trust company offering fiduciary services to clients and working with bankers and financial advisors.

At Moore Colson, Ratliff will help business owners and high-net-worth families with planning, research and compliance for estates, trusts, individuals and tax-exempt entities.

Adam Bateman

Marietta, Ga.-based Moore Colson (FY17 net revenue of $22.1 million) has admitted four directors to the partnership: Adam Bateman, Billy Boyd, Christopher D. Fagan and Jon Powell.

Bateman started his career with Moore Colson nearly 13 years ago. He has held several roles within the firm, advancing from associate to tax director in 2018.

Boyd joined the firm in 2005, as a business assurance associate. After continuous promotions, he began a director role in risk advisory and compliance services in 2018.

Fagan joined the firm in 2013, as a senior manager. He was promoted to a director role in 2018.

Powell started his career with the firm 13 years ago. He has held several roles within the firm, advancing with successive promotions from associate to a risk advisory and compliance services director role in 2018.

Moore Colson Announces Move to New Atlanta Office Space

Marietta, Ga.-based Moore Colson (FY17 net revenue of $22.1 million) announced the move of its headquarters to a new, larger office space at the Galleria Office Park in Atlanta to accommodate continued growth, effective July 30.

Moore Colson, now on its 37th year in business, will leverage its new office space to provide expanded services for its clients while enhancing the workplace experience for its 120 employees.

Moore Colson Promotes Nine Senior Managers to Directors

Moore Colson (FY16 net revenue of $21.7 million) of Marietta, Ga., announced that nine senior managers have been admitted to newly created roles of tax director and business assurance director. The professionals receiving this promotion include Steven Bailey, business assurance director; Adam Bateman, tax director; Kelly Bird-Keith, business assurance director; Billy Boyd, business assurance director; Jim Caylor, business assurance director; Christopher Fagan, business assurance director; Candace Jackson, business assurance director; Marcia Nally, tax director; and Jon Powell, IT/risk advisory & compliance services director.

Bailey joined the firm in 2010 with experience in leading audit and assurance engagements primarily within the manufacturing, distribution, construction, transportation, software, technology and health care industries. He provides financial analysis and fraud consulting services, in addition to internal control consulting services and corporate Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance audits.

Bateman started his career with Moore Colson nearly 12 years ago and has held several roles within the firm, advancing from associate with progressive promotions to the new director role. Bateman’s professional background in public accounting includes serving clients in the construction, real estate, transportation, private equity, manufacturing, retail, and financial services industries.

Bird-Keith joined Moore Colson in 2011 and has held several roles within the firm, advancing from senior associate with progressive promotions to the new director role. Bird-Keith’s professional background in public accounting includes serving clients in the real estate, financial institution, health care and medical technology industries.

Boyd joined the firm in 2005 and has experience in multiple industries including construction, distribution, manufacturing, retail, service and private equity. Along with performing audit and assurance engagements, he also serves several public companies through internal audit outsourcing and with SOX implementation and compliance. Boyd is also involved in the firm’s transaction advisory services, where he performs buy-side due diligence.

Caylor joined the firm in 2017 with extensive accounting, consulting and financial management experience. Caylor’s background includes leading audit and due diligence consulting engagements while serving clients in the commercial real estate, construction, hospitality, professional services and health care industries. He also specializes in audits of employee benefit plans, due diligence for initial public offerings (IPO), GAAP, SEC and International Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Fagan joined Moore Colson in 2013 with experience working with clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, health care, retail, food processing, directional drilling, and logistics and transportation. He serves as an advisor to clients in many areas including private equity funds, investors, debt financing diligence and advisory projects focused on inventory valuation and controls, consulting, assurance and transaction services. He also spearheads the business management operations of the firm’s entertainment clients.

Jackson started her career with Moore Colson 11 years ago and has held several roles within the firm, advancing from associate with progressive promotions to the director role. Jackson serves as a practice area leader in the firm’s Employee Benefit Plan Practice and serves clients in a variety of industries including transportation, distribution and professional services.

Nally started her career at the firm in 2015 and has extensive experience serving multi-tiered office and residential real estate partnerships. In addition, Nally has served clients in the manufacturing, retail, services and private equity industries. Her primary focus is on tax compliance and planning services for closely-held businesses and their owners in the real estate industry.

Powell started his career with Moore Colson 12 years ago and has held several roles within the firm, advancing from associate with progressive promotions to the director position. Powell’s background includes leading SOX initiatives, internal audit co-sourcing partnerships, SOC audits and other compliance engagements.

In their new roles, the directors will be further focused on the development and mentoring of managers and staff in addition to enabling the firm’s continued growth through its deep industry niches. Moore Colson of Marietta, Ga., (FY15 net revenue of $18 million) announces that Michael Hammond, Jonathan Levens and David Massey were admitted as partners of the firm.

Hammond is a partner in Moore Colson’s risk advisory and compliance services (RACS) practice. Previously, he was director and practice leader. He offers more than 30 years’ experience in both the private and public sectors.

As a partner, he is responsible for leading internal auditing services focusing on financial, operational and performance audit services, process improvement, risk management and controls evaluation for many of Moore Colson’s largest clients. He also leads the firm’s SOC and Sarbanes-Oxley engagements.

Prior to joining Moore Colson, he was an audit partner with Reznick Group in Atlanta.

Levens is a partner in the tax practice. Previously, he was a senior manager there, and has worked for Moore Colson since joining the firm as an intern in 2004.

As a partner, his responsibilities include leadership roles in the firm’s tax services practice and the coordination and management of tax compliance and consulting services for closely held businesses and their owners. Levens serves clients in the manufacturing, services, private equity and venture capital, restaurant and health care industries. In addition, he has extensive experience in merger / acquisition structuring and due diligence services.

David Massey

David Massey

Massey joined the firm as a partner the business assurance practice. He specializes in the coordination of business assurance services primarily in the construction industry, including audits, reviews and compilations. He also provides detailed cost analysis and other consultative services for contractors, developers, and end users on construction projects. He also serves clients in the technology and health care industries.

Prior to joining Moore Colson in 2016, Massey was a member of the assurance and advisory services practice of Frazier & Deeter. As an audit senior manager, he performed assurance functions including, audits, reviews and compilations. Prior to joining Frazier & Deeter, he worked as an operations accounting manager for Hardin Construction Company for eight years.

Moore Colson (FY15 net revenue of $18 million) of Marietta, Ga., recently announced that Josh Thomas was admitted as a partner in Moore Colson’s consulting practice.

Thomas offers Moore Colson 12 years of accounting and transaction services experience. He has assisted both financial and strategic clients in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, and performed financial due diligence for over 90 potential acquisitions with revenues ranging from $4 million to over $3 billion.

He has also worked on sell-side engagements, preparing carve-out financial statements, writing vendor due diligence reports and performing sell-side assistance. Thomas has broad industry experience, which includes manufacturing, distribution, software, services and retail. Additionally, he has worked on numerous cross border transactions in Germany, Finland, Sweden and Brazil.

Prior to joining Moore Colson in 2016, he was director of merger and acquisition services at Atlanta-based Habif, Arogeti & Wynne.

Moore Colson (FY13 net revenue of $14.5 million) of Marietta, Ga., announced the promotion of Patrick Daniel to IT audit and consulting director in the firm’s risk advisory and compliance practice.

Daniel, who has been with Moore Colson for more than 10 years, is responsible for leading the firm’s IT auditing services, focusing on SOX initiatives and compliance and security governance for many of the firm’s largest clients. He also leads many of the firm’s SSAE 16 service organization audits and attestation engagements.

Prior to joining Moore Colson, Daniel worked for the state of Georgia where he served as IT audit specialist. While working for the state, he performed information technology audits for some of the state’s largest agencies, including the Departments of Revenue, Education, Human Resources and the Office of Secretary of State.
