Calvetti Ferguson Adds New Technology Risk Service Line

Houston-based Calvetti Ferguson (FY18 net revenue of $15.3 million) has introduced a new technology risk service line. Led by partner John Jamison out of the firm’s Dallas office, the new practice will offer services including interim and fractional CIO/CISO, IT internal audits, IT risk assessments, SOC reporting and IT due diligence consulting.

“The reality is that organizations continue to be targets of ransomware and other cyberattacks, so whether our client is on the audit committee or in the C-suite, we will be ready to assist,” says MP Jason Ferguson. “John’s experience advising clients in financial services, data processing and other service organizations is a welcome addition to our firm’s industry expertise.”

Calvetti Ferguson Admits New Dallas Partner

Houston-based Calvetti Ferguson (FY18 net revenue of $15.3 million) has admitted John Jamison as PIC of the technology risk services practice in the Dallas office.

“We have been growing dramatically for the past couple of years, especially in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. We have known of this need in the market for a while, and knew we needed someone skilled in this area and very familiar with the local market,” states MP Jason Ferguson. “When we met John, we knew we had found the right leader for our new practice.”

Calvetti Ferguson Acquires Kapp & Miller

Houston-based Calvetti Ferguson of Houston (FY18 net revenue of $15.3 million) announces the acquisition of Kapp & Miller, effective Jan. 1.

Kapp & Miller of Fort Worth, founded in 1988, will bring six team members to the tax and accounting services teams.

Calvetti Ferguson Acquires Mayrath & Co.

Houston-based Calvetti Ferguson (FY17 net revenue of $11.5 million) has acquired Mayrath & Co. of Dallas on Jan. 1, with the intention to further expand in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The firm says it now has 100 professionals across six offices in Texas, in Houston, The Woodlands, San Antonio, Cleburne, Dallas and Fort Worth.

Founder Nick Mayrath, president of Mayrath & Co., joins Calvetti Ferguson as a tax partner. Mayrath says he was honored when presented with the opportunity to join the firm. “Calvetti Ferguson’s culture, reputation and dedication to clients is unparalleled. Their industry expertise and integrated service offerings will allow us to better serve our clients.”

Calvetti Ferguson Acquires AuldridgeGriffin

Calvetti Ferguson of Houston, has acquired Fort Worth, Texas-based AuldridgeGriffin. The team at AuldridgeGriffin has been serving clients for over 40 years.

The OMP will be Jack Auldridge Jr., who is a founding shareholder and has been involved in the business communities his entire career. Joining him are five partners, including Mike Griffin, another founding shareholder.

Calvetti Ferguson Acquires Holden & Parker

Effective Feb. 1, Calvetti Ferguson of Houston acquired Holden & Parker of Dallas and opened an office in Dallas.

The team at Holden & Parker has more than 30 years of experience serving high-net-worth individuals, executives and family groups. Ken Sibley will be the PIC of the Dallas office. He has been involved in the Dallas business community his entire career. Ken Holden, founding shareholder of Holden & Parker, will also join Calvetti Ferguson.

Calvetti Ferguson Expands to San Antonio with Acquisition

Houston-based Calvetti Ferguson (FY15 net revenue of $9 million) has announced the acquisition of Jim Oliver & Associates P.C. of San Antonio, Texas, effective Dec. 1, 2016. Additionally, Sandra Schieffer, formally of Mangum, Schieffer, Bradley & Co., will join the firm Nov. 1.

“I am excited to announce the addition of Sandra, Jim and their respective teams to our firm,” says Jason Ferguson, MP of Calvetti Ferguson. “We established a foothold in San Antonio in 2014 with the expectation to be where we are today. The expertise, relationships and culture fostered by Jim and Sandra in their firms will only make us a more dynamic presence in the central Texas market.”

Oliver founded his firm in 1981. Since then he has grown the firm to represent a host of owner/operators, health care, real estate, legal professional clients and family offices. Oliver served as the technical editor of Today’s CPA, and provided his unique viewpoint in his column “The Closing Entry.” Oliver is also a member of the AICPA Council and is active on committees. Along with Oliver, six members of his staff will be joining Calvetti Ferguson.

Schieffer was a founding partner at Mangum, Schieffer, Bradley & Co., also of San Antonio, where her practice consists primarily of energy-related clients and closely held family-owned businesses and the individuals who own them. She brings more than 35 years of experience as a CPA to Calvetti Ferguson and will bring four members of her staff to join the Calvetti Ferguson team.

IPA ranks Fastest-Growing firms by organic growth, which is the percentage of growth in net revenues from the previous year excluding mergers and acquisitions. The data is also displayed by region, and all the graphs and analysis will be available in the October issue of INSIDE Public Accounting.

In the Under $5 Million category, Houston-based MiddletonRaines+Zapata was No. 1 at 33.6% increase in organic growth. No. 10 belongs to Beasley Mitchell & Co. of Las Cruces, N.M. with 9.9% organic growth.

The biggest jump in organic growth in the Over $5 Million category – at 68% – was Houston-based Calvetti Ferguson, an oil and gas specialty firm. JTaylor of Fort Worth, Texas followed Calvetti at an impressive 45.2% organic growth. No. 10 on the list, Dubuque, Iowa-based Honkamp Krueger & Co. grew at an impressive rate of 20.6%.
