Adelsberger Marketing Joins Alexander Thompson Arnold CPAs

A partnership has been announced between Adelsberger Marketing of Jackson, Tenn., and Union City, Tenn.-based Alexander Thompson Arnold (FY18 net revenue of $26.6 million).

“As our digital marketing firm has grown over the past five years, we were ready to take the next step,” says Kevin Adelsberger, owner and founder of Adelsberger Marketing. “Joining forces with ATA and their client base throughout West Tennessee and the Southeast was a perfect match.”

Founded in 2014, Adelsberger Marketing offers videography, content marketing, digital advertising, social media, websites and branding.

Alexander Thompson Arnold Admits Marcie Williams as Partner

Union City, Tenn.-based Alexander Thompson Arnold (FY18 net revenue of $26.6 million) has admitted Marcie Williams to the partnership.

Williams has been with the firm for 12 years in the Jackson, Tenn., office. She is an assurance partner specializing in internal school funds, school districts, single audits, contractors and other for-profit engagements.

“This is a goal I have been working toward for some time,” says Williams. “I have always enjoyed the people I work with and the niches I have developed throughout my career. Becoming a partner in these areas of practice and continuing relationships with my coworkers and clients is not only a privilege but an honor.”

Williams has gained extensive experience in several divisions of ATA, including technical review, which has made her a valuable resource. Additionally, she leads regular internal training sessions and offers guidance to staff and newly acquired firms to maintain quality control standards, the firm announced.

“Marcie has shown exceptional leadership over the past 12 years,” says MP John Whybrew. “She takes initiative and is always a team player.”

Alexander Thompson Arnold Admits Puckett as Partner

Mark Puckett has joined Union City, Tenn.-based Alexander Thompson Arnold (FY16 net revenue of $20.3 million) as a partner in the Memphis, Tenn., office.

Puckett has more than 35 years of experience with BDO USA at their Memphis office. He held top leadership positions including OMP (tax), regional MP (tax) and managing director (tax).

“As a BDO Alliance firm, we have worked closely with Mark over the years, so our relationship is long-standing. We understand how one another works and know Mark will bring a great deal of expertise and experience to our growing Memphis presence,” says John Whybrew, MP of ATA.

Alexander Thompson Arnold Merges with Ashby & Associates

Union City, Tenn.-based Alexander Thompson Arnold (FY16 net revenue of $20.3 million) merged with Tupelo, Miss.-based Ashby & Associates.

“We already work with clients in the Tupelo area and look forward to expanding our presence and involvement in the community. We are eager to grow the firm in years to come,” says ATA partner Stephen Eldridge.

ATA provides accounting, auditing, tax and consulting services. With the addition of Tupelo, ATA now has 14 office locations in western and central Tennessee, western Kentucky and Mississippi.

McLean & Associates Merges with Alexander Thompson Arnold CPAs

McLean & Associates of Bartlett, Tenn., has merged with Union City, Tenn.-based Alexander Thompson Arnold CPAs (ATA) (FY15 net revenue of $16.6 million).

“ATA’s economies of scale, advanced technical and technological capabilities, staff recruiting and training, and strong quality control system will allow us to enhance the value to our clients,” says Charles McLean, of McLean & Associates. “These competencies will also serve as a platform for meeting further needs in the community.” McLean has been admitted as a partner at ATA.

“Joining forces with a firm with the growth record, reputation, clientele and expertise of McLean & Associates enables ATA to strategically grow our presence in the Memphis business community in conjunction with our values and ATA’s heritage of providing superior customer service and remaining locally focused,” says Terryl Viner, partner from ATA’s Memphis office.

Prior to joining ATA, McLean & Associates provided high-end tax preparation, accounting, assurance and consulting services to individuals and businesses in the Memphis area. Now their clients will have access to ATA’s wide variety of accounting, auditing and consulting services. ATA has extensive experience in serving financial institutions, governmental, construction, agriculture, transportation, not-for-profit, manufacturing, and a variety of private and public companies.

ATA has 21 partners and approximately 165 staff members over 12 offices. McLean & Associates plans to relocate in the summer to east Memphis.

ATA Acquires Three Firms and Admits Seven New Partners

Union City, Tenn.-based Alexander Thompson Arnold (FY16 net revenue of $20.3 million) has acquired Cannon & Company of Memphis, Tenn., Fred H. Page & Co. of Tupelo, Miss., and Owensboro, Ky.-based Myriad CPA Group, effective Dec. 31, 2017.

J. Schifani and Cathy Messerly of Cannon & Co. will be admitted as partners, and David Cuicchi and David Curbo will become principals of the firm.

Fred Page, whose accounting career spans more than 50 years, will join the firm as a principal. He specializes in accounting and tax for businesses and individuals.

From Myriad CPA Group, Richard Campbell, Brian Crafton, Kris Kemp and Mac Neel will be admitted as partners. Bud Crafton will become a principal.

In addition to these acquisitions, Mark Puckett was admitted as a firmwide tax partner, based in the Memphis office.

Goldstein Sacks Announces Merger with Tennessee Firm

Goldstein Sacks & Associates of Nashville has announced a merger with Dyersburg, Tenn.-based Alexander Thompson Arnold CPAs, the eighth largest accounting firm in Tennessee, according to a news release.

Larry Sacks and the Goldstein/Sacks & Associates team have been providing professional accounting services for more than 25 years. “ATA has the resources of a large accounting firm, which can be a great advantage for our clients, but they focus on providing personalized customer service,” Sacks said. “Our clients will see many positive things from this merger and will continue to work with the same employees they know and trust.”
