Decker, an audit and assurance partner in the Stamford, Conn., location, provides auditing, review, tax and consulting services for commercial industries including real estate, professional services, computer software, retail, manufacturing and venture capital. He also has extensive experience working with health and welfare organizations, museums, churches and synagogues, government enterprise funds and condominiums in the not-for-profit space.

Teixeira, a tax partner in the Shelton, Conn., office, provides a broad spectrum of tax services to many kinds of companies as well as high-net-worth individuals. She specializes in tax saving strategies for individuals and business owners.

PKF O’Connor Davies Merges in Dworken Hillman LaMorte & Sterczala

New York-based PKF O’Connor Davies (FY18 net revenue of $170 million) announced that Dworken Hillman LaMorte & Sterczala (DHL&S) has joined the firm.

DHL&S, a $7.1 million firm in Shelton, Conn., specializes in accounting and advisory services for privately and closely held businesses and high-net-worth tax planning and solutions. The expansion is part of an ongoing strategic growth initiative at PKF O’Connor Davies. DHL&S is the fourth group to join the firm in the last year.

Managing Principal Eric N. Hendlin, along with 10 partners and 27 staff members, will join PKF O’Connor Davies while continuing to operate at its current Connecticut location, which is the 12th PKF O’Connor Davies office. Its focus will remain on providing accounting, consulting, industry specialization and tax services to businesses of all sizes as well as individuals and families.

PKF O’Connor Davies Welcomes Andrew Suh as New Partner

New York-based PKF O’Connor Davies (FY18 net revenue of $170 million) has hired Andrew Suh and admitted him as a partner to lead to the firm’s transaction advisory services practice.

Suh provides buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory services with a concentration on due diligence (accounting, financial, tax), purchase agreement vetting, closing and post-deal assistance.

Suh has worked on deals ranging in value from $5 million to $2 billion across the technology, media and entertainment, telecommunications, life sciences, health care, business services and consumer products industries.

In addition, he has advised on a number of cross-border transactions involving Canadian, Australian, South American, European and Asian entities. Previously in his career, he also served as CFO of a private equity-backed technology company in Australia.

Thomas Blaney to Lead New England Growth for PKF O’Connor Davies

New York-based PKF O’Connor Davies (FY18 net revenue of $170 million) has appointed partner Thomas Blaney to lead the New England region.

Blaney serves as director of the private foundations practice. He also leads the firm’s governance committee. In his new role, Blaney will be responsible for financial and operational oversight of the firm’s New England offices while leading growth from Stamford, Conn., to Boston.

“As we expand our footprint in New England and build out the services and solutions we offer, we need a leader who can ensure that growth matches our culture and our commitment to next-level client service,” says MP Kevin J. Keane. “Tom’s long career with the firm and his experience in governance and executive leadership make him the perfect choice to oversee this ongoing effort.”

Blaney has more than 35 years of experience specializing in the accounting and tax aspects of exempt organizations and has been with the firm for nearly two decades. In his role as regional head of New England, he will lead cultural and operational partnerships with firms joining PKF O’Connor Davies in the New England area. This will include ensuring efficient transitions and collaboration throughout New England and with all 11 offices.

New York-based PKF O’Connor Davies (FY17 net revenue of $160 million) has hired Christopher P. McPhee as chief information officer.

McPhee brings more than 25 years of financial, government and corporate IT experience to the new role. He will guide technology initiatives and oversee the firm’s IT department.

New York-based PKF O’Connor Davies (FY17 net revenue of $160 million) has merged in Hodulik & Morrison of Highland Park, N.J.

The firm says the move was designed to expand expertise in its public sector practice.

Seven Professionals Admitted to Partnership at PKF O’Connor Davies

Benjamin Beskovic

New York-based PKF O’Connor Davies (FY17 net revenue of $160 million) announces it has admitted seven professionals to the partnership: Benjamin Beskovic, Scott Brown, Scott Edison, Julia Eisenhaur, Jason Fastiggi, Samantha Paris and Victor Peña.

Beskovic has more than 10 years of federal, state and international income tax experience. Based in the firm’s New York office, his clients include multi-national firms, high-net-worth individuals and privately held companies.

Brown has spent 11 years with the firm. Based in Cranford, N.J., Brown specializes in not-for-profit organizations, including private foundations, independent schools, arts and cultural organizations and membership organizations. He performs duties in the areas of audit- and tax-related engagements.

Scott Brown

Edison brings more than 20 years of experience focusing on providing business consulting and advisory services as well as individual, partnership and corporate tax planning and accounting for privately held and family-owned businesses. Based in the firm’s Cranford, N.J., office, Edison specializes in serving closely held businesses including medical and dental practices, professional services, retail, consulting, real estate and distribution.

Eisenhaur has more than 20 years of industry experience and has developed expertise in many areas of accounting and consulting. Based in the Wethersfield, Conn., office, she works with numerous not-for-profit organizations, including voluntary health and welfare organizations, health care organizations and affordable housing. She will serve as partner in the firm’s not-for-profit division.

Fastiggi has more than 18 years of industry experience in financial services, previously working as the vice president of a multi-billion-dollar investment advisor. Based in the firm’s New York office, he has served a diverse mix of clients, including hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds, venture capital funds, private foundations and other alternative investment vehicles. He will serve as a partner in the firm’s financial services division.

Victor Peña

Paris has spent more than 17 years working in the world of small business accounting and taxation. Based in the firm’s Woodcliff Lakes, N.J., office, Paris’ expertise spans a range of small business accounting, tax services, financial statement preparation and audits of private companies. She will be a partner in the firm’s business solutions group.

Peña brings more than 10 years of public accounting experience to his new role as partner in the financial services division. Working from the firm’s New York office, he focuses on alternative investments and financial services clients including broker-dealers, clearing and non-clearing, commodities brokers, asset managers, hedge funds, private equity funds, master-feeder funds and management companies.

PKF O’Connor Davies Add Two Members to Executive Committee

New York-based PKF O’Connor Davies (FY17 net revenue of $160 million) has added two new members to its executive committee – Christopher Petermann and Garrett Higgins.

The professionals were approved following recommendations by the firm’s recently established governance committee.

“These nominations show the importance of attracting and growing talent at the firm,” says MP Kevin J. Keane. “Chris and Garrett have demonstrated exemplary leadership qualities throughout their careers and specifically during their time as partners at PKF O’Connor Davies.”

Garrett Higgins

Petermann serves as co-PIC for the private foundation practice and specializes in accounting for exempt organizations and private foundations, as well as closely held businesses and financial services entities. Higgins serves as PIC for the exempt organization tax and advisory services group and specializes in providing tax compliance and advisory services to tax-exempt organizations.

To avoid having multiple partners finish their duties in the same year, the governance committee recommended Petermann serve a six-year term and Higgins serve a four-year term. The executive committee accepted these recommendations upon appointment on Jan. 1.
