KLR Admits Three Partners

Providence, R.I.-based KLR admitted three professionals to the partner group on July 1: Sandy Ross, Michael Garcia and Francheska Pimentel.

“We are very proud to acknowledge these three outstanding leaders who go above and beyond for our clients, colleagues and community,” says Alan Litwin, managing director. “They are our future.”

Ross, of the nonprofit services group, joined KLR in 2001. She is known for excellent client service, and enjoys working with executive directors and board members to help them better understand the financial reporting process and the nonprofit organization.

Garcia, of the enterprise solutions group, joined KLR in 2019. He focuses on helping entrepreneurial businesses with accounting, bookkeeping and outsourced services. He is also known as an expert on the CARES Act.

Pimentel, practice leader of the international tax group, joined KLR in 2015. An internationally known speaker on international tax issues, she is an expert on global mobility issues.

All located in the KLR Providence office are Keith Leduc, Patrick Martin, Sandy Ross and Robert Victor.

KLR Expands IT Services; Andrea Joins as Principal

Andrea joins the firm after most recently working for a Boston CPA firm and previously with an international public accounting and consulting firm. He has significant experience in the performance of forensic accounting and litigation support procedures, service organization control (SOC) services, cyber security, internal accounting controls assessments, financial statement audits and information technology consulting services.

“Dan brings a wealth of technical expertise and practical management experience to our firm,” says Henry Silva, partner and director of emerging business. “With his experience and knowledge, Dan has a deep understanding of IT risk and its relationship to an organization’s finances and operations – a high-need area demonstrated by recent cyber security concerns.”

KLR Names New CFO/COO

Providence, R.I.-based KLR (FY14 net revenue of $35.8 million) announced that Christopher Mordas will join the firm as CFO and COO.

Mordas will work from KLR’s four U.S. offices and will be responsible for enhancing the internal organization processes and infrastructure that will allow KLR to continue to grow.

Mordas joins the firm after most recently serving as the CFO at Palladium Group Inc. There he served as a strategic business partner to firm leadership overseeing global finance, including financial reporting, planning and analyses; tax and legal compliance and oversight; risk management, treasury; and investor/banking relations.

KLR Opens New Office in Boston

Providence, R.I.-based KLR (FY14 net revenue of $35.8 million) has announced that it has opened a new office in Boston. KLR is expanding its business in the Boston area with the move of their office from the Back Bay to this new expanded office in the Financial District.

Drawn to the Financial District by a variety of key industries and a deeply skilled talent pool, KLR will continue to work with clients within the private equity/venture capital, health care, manufacturing, technology, hospitality and non-profit industries.

Causer joins KLR as a principal, private client services. Based in Boston, she is experienced in working with individuals and families who have complex financial structures with federal, multi-state income tax and international reporting requirements.
