Henry+Horne Admits Three New Partners

Tempe, Ariz.-based Henry+Horne, an IPA 200 firm, announced that Kevin Bach, Sharlynn Garza and Jessica Moulder have been admitted as partners.

Bach, who leads the data analytic niche, has been with the firm since 2012. He helped found the niche, which assists clients in setting up interactive dashboards and visualization tools.

Garza has been with Henry+Horne for 17 years, specializing in providing services for non-profit health care, membership organizations and grant-making foundations.

Moulder has been with the firm since 2005, overseeing accounting services for a variety of industries including not-for-profit and service organizations.

The firm also announced that Jaimi Koechel has been promoted to principal to lead the marketing department.

Henry+Horne Admits Hemmerle to Partnership

Tempe, Ariz.-based Henry+Horne (FY18 net revenue of $27 million) announces the admittance of Brian Hemmerle to the partnership, bringing the total number of partners to 17. He will serve as the PIC of government services.

Hemmerle joined the government niche at Henry+Horne in 2009. He has over 10 years experience providing audit services for governmental and not-for-profit entities.

“Brian has demonstrated professionalism, commitment and exceptional client service throughout his career. He is very deserving of this promotion,” say co-MPs Chuck Goodmiller and Chuck Inderieden.

Hemmerle is based in Henry+Horne’s Tempe office.

Henry+Horne Wealth Management of Scottsdale, Ariz., announces that Shaunna Anderson has been promoted to senior vice president and principal.

Over the course of her career, Anderson developed technical skills spanning all aspects of portfolio management, investment implementation and operations.

Anderson joined Henry+Horne Wealth Management in 2016. She has more than 15 years of financial and operational management experience, including working with individuals, affluent families and businesses to assess their investment portfolio needs.

Dustin Minton Returns to Restaurants with Henry+Horne

Tempe, Ariz.-based Henry+Horne (FY18 net revenue of $27 million) announces that Dustin Minton has been admitted to the partnership and will team up with the head of the restaurant niche to grow the practice throughout the U.S.

Minton specializes in assurance services for restaurants as well as consulting on best practices related to internal controls, benchmarking, franchising, corporate structures, financing options and growth strategies.

Before joining Henry+Horne, he was a partner and co-leader of the national restaurant industry group at Chicago-based BDO USA (FY18 net revenue of $1.46 billion), which in 2014 acquired Cleveland-based SS&G Inc., where Minton served as co-director of restaurant services.

Minton is returning to public accounting after a five-month sabbatical. An avid global traveler, he took time off to visit six continents (he’s already been to Antarctica).

“Henry+Horne is a great match culturally and reminds me of my time at SS&G. The firm presented a great opportunity for me to jump back in and still get to focus exclusively on restaurants with a firm that’s totally committed to the industry,” Minton says.

The update is centered on what the firm values most – people. The new logo and colors show that Henry+Horne is relational and knowledgeable while the new tagline, “Offering You More,” highlights the firm’s commitment to going above and beyond for clients, team members and the community.

“Our branding efforts are being used to communicate outwardly who Henry+Horne is. Tempe, Ariz.-based Henry & Horne (FY15 net revenue of $21.4 million) announced the admittance of Phillip McCollum Jr., Melinda Nelson and Jonathan Poppel to the partnership, bringing the number of partners to 17.

McCollum joined Henry & Horne in October 2015, bringing 20 years of experience in accounting. He specializes in providing professional services to closely held businesses and individuals including compliance needs, tax consulting, transfer of sale and business, transfer of wealth, mergers and acquisitions and more.

Nelson has been with Henry & Horne for eight years. She specializes in tax planning strategies and compliance involving closely held businesses and their owners as well as estate, gift and trust taxation.

Poppel manages audit and review services as well as client relationships, serving a variety of industries including manufacturers, construction, distributors, restaurants and franchisors. He joined Henry & Horne in 2008 and has 14 years of experience in the accounting industry.

Henry & Horne Acquires Centerpoint Advisors

Tempe, Ariz.-based Henry & Horne (FY15 net revenue of $21.4 million) has acquired Centerpoint Advisors, effective Jan. 1.

“I’m very excited to go from a solo practice to joining a group that will provide my clients a much more robust service,” says Centerpoint Advisors’ Jeffrey Wright, who brings more than 30 years of experience to his new role as a director in Henry & Horne’s litigation and valuation services group. “We’ve got a great team keeping up with all of the developments in the profession in order to better serve clients and I think they’re really going to benefit quite a bit.”

Wright believes the merger is a good fit because both firms are highly respected and the expertise, approach to exceptional client service and business philosophy all line up. He will be based in the Scottsdale, Ariz., office.

Two Tempe Firms Combine: Henry & Horne And Anderson, Church & Co.

Tempe, Ariz.-based Henry & Horne (FY15 net revenue of $21.4 million) has acquired Anderson, Church & Co. of Tempe, effective Dec. 1.

Anderson, Church & Co. has been serving businesses and individuals across Arizona for 40 years. The firms share similar expertise and business philosophy, the firms announced. Founding partner Eric Church and his team will be based out of the Tempe office.

“We are convinced that our decision to merge with Henry & Horne is the right move for our clients and team members. It will allow us to expand on our specialties, allow our team members more opportunities to grow in new areas and ensure our clients continue to receive the highest level of service with access to additional personnel and resources,” says Church.

Henry & Horne Acquires Pittman & Murdough

Tempe, Ariz.-based Henry & Horne LLP (FY14 net revenue of $20.4 million) announced the acquisition of Pittman & Murdough PLLC of Phoenix. The merger became effective Jan. 1.

John Murdough joins Henry & Horne as PIC of the firm’s new construction niche. This brings the number of partners to 15. Michael Gatson comes on board as partner emeritus, and Laureen Song is taking on the role of director of construction industry services. Three other team members will join the firm. All will be based out of the Scottsdale, Ariz., location.

Pittman & Murdough has been serving the Arizona business community for 25 years and is well known in the construction industry. Combined, the two firms have more than 80 years of experience in the accounting profession.

Tempe, Ariz.-based Henry & Horne LLP (FY14 net revenue of $20.4 million) has been named the winner of the Leading Edge Alliance’s prestigious Edge Award for Outstanding Community Service.

The firm was recognized for creating a committee to streamline community service efforts and increase visibility within the firm by participating in monthly public service events, and for hosting its own event. All offices were closed for a day so that team members could work on beautifying a client’s campus.
