San Francisco-based Andersen Tax (FY18 net revenue of $281 million) announces the addition of Jerry Fish as a managing director in the U.S. National Tax (USNT) practice in the Chicago office.

Fish comes to the firm with more than 21 years of experience in accounting for income taxes, income tax compliance, tax legislation, tax planning, and mergers and acquisitions. Previously, he served as a partner at BDO.

“Jerry has great experience in maintaining a full-service tax client base while also managing multiple engagement teams. His skillset and expertise will be an invaluable asset to our USNT team and Chicago office,” says Dan DePaoli, Andersen Tax U.S. country managing director.

Andersen Tax San Francisco Office Welcomes Managing Director Al Nunez

San Francisco-based Andersen Tax (FY17 net revenue of $247 million) has admitted Al Nunez as a managing director in the commercial practice group, working from the San Francisco office.

Nunez has over 20 years of tax experience and specializes in working with clients on various matters including compliance, consulting, transfer pricing and cross-border transactions.

“Al’s extensive background in ASC 740, ASC 718 and uncertain tax positions will provide valuable skill and expertise in the San Francisco office. His overall leadership in business development and mentoring staff will contribute to the success of the office’s growth,” says U.S. Country Managing Director Dan DePaoli.

Prior to joining the team at Andersen Tax, Nunez was a federal tax partner at RSM LLP. He also previously worked at EY.

LaBorde Joins Andersen Tax as a Managing Director of Houston Office

San Francisco-based Andersen Tax (FY17 net revenue of $247 million) welcomes John LaBorde as a managing director in the Houston office as part of the commercial practice group.

He has more than 29 years of experience in state income, franchise tax, sales and use tax, property tax and state tax planning and consulting.

“John’s background in state and local tax and tax consulting will be a great addition to our office and our firm,” says Jason Graham, office managing director of the Houston office. “As he joins our commercial practice, he brings along a wealth of consulting knowledge as well as the experience to help clients with all their needs.”

Prior to joining Andersen Tax, he was a partner at Grant Thornton, where he built their Houston state and local tax practice from the ground up and he led the energy industry segment of the firm’s tax practice. He also previously worked at PwC and EY.

Andersen Tax Greenwich Office Welcomes Managing Director

San Francisco-based Andersen Tax (FY17 net revenue of $247 million) welcomes Crystal Germanese as a managing director in the Greenwich, Conn., office, joining the firm’s private client services practice.

She has over 15 years of experience and specializes in serving closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals on tax matters ranging from income tax planning, compliance, specialized transactions, and family wealth and tax planning.

“We are excited to have Crystal join our Andersen Tax team,” says John Farro, managing director of the Greenwich office. “Her background in working with a variety of industries including retail, manufacturing/ distribution, real estate and construction, is a key element in the consulting and overall advice we provide to clients.”

Before joining Andersen Tax, Germanese was a partner at West Hartford, Conn.-based Blum Shapiro & Company (FY17 net revenue of $79.5 million). She gained a majority of her tax experience with the firm.

Andersen Tax Welcomes Managing Director Rangel to the Houston Office

San Francisco-based Andersen Tax (FY17 net revenue of $247 million) welcomes Abdon Rangel as a managing director in the Houston office, who will join the firm’s commercial practice. Rangel has more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of the oil and gas industry, and specializes in global tax consulting, federal tax planning, and mergers and acquisitions.

Jason Graham, office managing director of the Houston office, says, “Abdon is an important hire as he transitions into our well-established oil and gas practice, given his deep experience working with oil and gas companies. It was crucial to find someone qualified to take the lead over the energy practice that we have successfully built over the years.”

Before joining Andersen Tax, Rangel was the VP of tax and risk management at Linn Energy, previously one of the largest E&P MLP and institutional investment companies. He also has previous experience at KPMG and PwC, where he was a partner.

San Francisco-based Andersen Tax (FY16 net revenue of $220.2 million) welcomed Brandon Nett as a managing director in the Seattle office. Nett will join the commercial practice group.

Nett has experience in consulting with clients on accounting for income taxes and other domestic and foreign tax matters. He also has experience in mergers and acquisitions and has specialized tax experience in the technology, health care and mining industries.

“Brandon’s background in the technology and health care sectors will be a great asset to our firm, and his wealth of experience in all areas of the field such as acquisition structuring and consulting, cross-border transactions, and corporate spin-offs, will help us better compete in the market,” says Lance Lamprecht, office managing director of the Seattle office.

Prior to Andersen Tax, Nett was a tax partner at Grant Thornton in Seattle and led their West region mergers and acquisitions tax services practice. Before Grant Thornton, he worked at PwC in Phoenix.

San Francisco-based Andersen Tax (FY16 net revenue of $220.2 million) named Mike Hough as the office managing director in Boston. Hough has more than 17 years of experience in tax practice and been with Andersen Tax since its inception.

Hough specializes in helping individuals and families navigate sales of closely held companies, plan for equity compensation events, as well as design and implement tax efficient wealth transfer and philanthropic strategies. He tailors his practice to work closely with founders and substantial shareholders of closely held companies, private equity managing directors, executives at public companies, and high-net-worth family groups.

In these new roles, both will work to drive results across the eastern region and the alternative investment funds practice.

DesRoches helps families develop state-of-the-art customized income tax and estate planning solutions. He has more than 30 years of experience with tax and financial matters affecting entrepreneurs, private equity and hedge fund principals, executives and wealthy individuals. Currently, DesRoches is transitioning his responsibilities as the office managing director of Andersen Tax’s New York office.

Lamprecht has nearly 30 years of experience in advising clients on tax matters. His main practice areas are state and local tax planning, compliance and research. His experience includes designing optimal business and operating structures to minimize a company’s state and local tax exposure and identifying opportunities to minimize state taxes relating to acquisitions, divestitures and other reorganizations. Lamprecht’s new role will involve managing growth in the Pacific Northwest as well as continuing to work with clients and staff on a daily basis.

Swartz provides a broad range of tax planning and compliance services to high-net-worth individuals, family groups and closely held businesses with sophisticated business, personal and investment objectives. James has more 28 years of experience and specializes in tax consulting and compliance services for private equity and venture capital firms, hedge funds, investment advisors and broker-dealers.
