Lauren Clemmer, the executive director of the Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM), is retiring at the end of the year for health reasons.

AAM President Jen Lemanski announced that Clemmer’s last day will be Dec. 31 in a Monday email to members. Clemmer has served as executive director since June 2015, following eight years as a member, during which she served as chair of the Virtual Education Committee.

“From working toward achieving our Vision 2020 plan to serving as the face of AAM within in our industry, Lauren has played a critical role in the success of AAM over the past four and a half years as executive director,” Lemanski writes.

The board of directors is evaluating next steps and will not name an interim executive director. AMR Management Services will assist with the management of AAM and day-to-day operations are not expected to change.

Clemmer says leading the organization has been a highlight of her career. “Never once did I feel like I was doing this job alone. We have worked together to grow people and practices. And I’m grateful to every email and conversation I’ve had with you during my tenure. I truly believe it’s helped make AAM stronger.”
