Councilor Buchanan & Mitchell Expands Services

Councilor Buchanan & Mitchell (CBM), with offices in Bethesda, Md., and Washington, D.C., will merge in Chaconas & Wilson of Washington, D.C., on Nov. 1.

MP Peter B. Reilly says of Chaconas & Wilson, “Their professionals have been recognized throughout the Washington, D.C., metropolitan region as a knowledgeable and accomplished group, further bolstering our professional service and not-for-profit practices.”

Since 1986, Chaconas & Wilson has provided auditing and accounting, tax, advisory and consulting services to a wide variety of clients, including not-for-profit organizations, professional service firms, individuals and businesses throughout the area.

MP Theodore Chaconas and principals Joseph Wilson and Mollie Lambert will join CBM in leadership positions. The expansion will create a firm of 97 team members, including 12 partners.

“Our decision to join CBM was based on a shared vision and commitment to excellence, personalized client service and passion for our work,” says Chaconas. “This unified vision will allow us to continue offering our clients the superior personalized service that is the foundation of our practice. Joining CBM enables us to provide our clients access to a larger group of high quality, committed, experienced professionals.”

The number of professionals at CBM has more than doubled in the past five years. The Chaconas & Wilson merger follows a merger with May & Barnhard (2017), the practice of William Blumenauer (2017), Drolet & Associates (2014) and Stokes & Company (2014).
