Chicago-based Grant Thornton (FY16 net revenue of $1.7 billion) named Greg Wallig as the OMP in the metro D.C. office, located in Arlington, Va. In this role, he will focus on client service, growth and talent development.

“Greg has had an impressive 13-year career at Grant Thornton – one during which he has worked successfully across multiple geographies, service lines and industries,” says Sean Denham, Atlantic coast regional MP. “He brings remarkable leadership qualities and significant experience in advisory engagements that will foster continued success for our clients.”

Wallig will work closely with leaders from the public sector and Washington national tax office. He succeeds Jamie Fowler in the OMP role, who now serves as the firm’s national MP of tax services.

Wallig joined Grant Thornton in 2005, starting in the firm’s San Francisco office. He spent five years as leader of the public sector risk advisory service line, and also helped to found the public sector audit practice, serving as that practice’s first information assurance leader. For the past three years, Wallig led the firm’s advisory practice in Bangalore, India. He has served as the advisory services regional leader for the Atlantic coast for the past 18 months.
