New York-based CohnReznick (FY17 net revenue of $617 million) welcomed Shahryar Shaghaghi as a principal and leader of the cybersecurity advisory.

Shahryar has more than 20 years of technology and risk management leadership experience, working with technology, risk, compliance and security executives. His engagements include complex and global implementations across a wide variety of industries and client sizes.

Prior to joining CohnReznick, Shahryar was MP of CyTech Partners, where he was responsible for leading clients in cybersecurity and technology transformation. Previously, he led technology advisory and cybersecurity for BDO Consulting. He also led Citigroup’s corporate center office of information security, where he worked with the C-suite and board to lead complex security initiatives, drive regulatory compliance efforts, and help protect the bank’s brand at a time of significant cyber vulnerability. Shahryar is a former partner with Deloitte Consulting, where he formed and led their first information security consulting offerings; and spent the early part of his career with PwC and Andersen Consulting, now Accenture.

“Cyber is not just a technology issue; it’s a business strategy issue that must be viewed and addressed holistically. Shahryar’s experience and proven cyber leadership will help us stay at the forefront of providing best-in-class solutions to our clients’ risk management issues,” says Dave Rubin, principal and risk and business advisory national director.
