BDO USA Restructures South Florida Practice

Effective Dec. 18, Chicago-based BDO USA (FY17 net revenue of $1.4 billion) will combine its Miami and Coral Gables, Fla., offices. The new Miami office will have 125 employees and the firm anticipates adding an additional 35 staff at that location in the near term.

“We have a strong history of working together among our south Florida offices and this will further ensure clients are able to benefit from BDO’s broad array of services, extensive industry experience and the wide-ranging resources of the BDO global network,” says Paul Heiselmann, MP southeast region. “Whether it is SEC representation, advice on cybersecurity, tax guidance for businesses and their owners, or another assurance, tax or advisory area, clients need to know we have the resources to help them in addressing the challenges they face from day-to-day.”

Alfredo Cepero will serve as assurance MP for the south Florida practice. Sandy Horowitz will serve as the tax MP for the new Miami office, while Daniel Castro and Lori Myers will serve as the tax MPs for the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and West Palm Beach, Fla., offices respectively. Madeline Elias has been appointed to a new role as tax market leader for south Florida, which is focused on enhancing the tax practice’s relationships with the business community throughout the region.
