Chicago-based Grant Thornton (FY16 net revenue of $1.7 billion) has named Rimma Tabakh as the firm’s greater Bay Area local audit practice leader. In this role, she will be responsible for driving the highest quality audit services to clients in the firm’s San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices.

“Rimma’s exceptional ability to foster deep relationships with clients and team members, her rigorous focus on audit quality and her undeniable industry acumen make her an ideal leader for our audit practice in the greater Bay Area,” says Tony Perazzo, California market leader.

Having recently returned from China where she was the U.S. resident partner based in Shanghai, Tabakh supported Grant Thornton China in the execution of audits of U.S.-listed companies located in China, as well as American companies with significant operations in China and Asia Pacific. She also supervised cross-border transactions including initial public offerings of foreign filers.

Tabakh has more than 18 years of experience providing audit and advisory services to multi-national corporations and private clients. She has led initial and secondary public offerings, performed due diligence in acquisitions, supervised intricate international audits (including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance), overseen various SEC filings, and advised European, American and Asian companies on cross-border and capital raising transactions.
