Roanoke, Va.-based Brown Edwards & Co. (FY16 net revenue of $32.2 million) will acquire Dixon Hughes Goodman’s Roanoke office, the company announced.
The 18 employees, including partners, and most of the clients of the Roanoke office of Charlotte, N.C.-based Dixon Hughes Goodman (FY16 net revenue of $394 million) will be absorbed by Brown Edwards on Feb. 1.
“This acquisition positions us to provide a greater depth of expertise and resources to serve the needs of our clients and strengthen Brown Edwards’ position as the largest independent certified public accounting firm in our geographic footprint,” Brown Edwards MP Jason Hartman says.
He said the staffs at the two firms have worked together over many years and have a similar “client-centric” approach.
“Bringing the local DHG office to our firm simply brings more resources to the table to accomplish that goal,” Hartman says.
Brown Edwards provides accounting services to businesses and individuals in Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee. This acquisition will increase Brown Edwards’ Roanoke staff to 75 associates and 12 partners. Dixon Hughes Goodman is ranked No. 17 on the 2016 IPA 100 list of largest firms in the nation.
“While DHG will no longer maintain an office in Roanoke, we look forward to continuing to serve several clients in the Roanoke area as part of DHG’s national and regional industry focus,” says Gary Thomson, DHG regional MP.
