Marks Paneth’s Thomas Named to CPA Practice Advisor’s 40 Under 40

New York-based Marks Paneth (FY15 net revenue of $111 million) has announced that Sibi Thomas, partner with the firm’s nonprofit and government group, has been named to CPA Practice Advisor’s ‘40 Under 40 in the Accounting Profession.’

Thomas joined Marks Paneth in 2005 and plans, coordinates and conducts audits for a wide range of nonprofit organizations – including large social service organizations, third-party funded organizations, educational institutions, charities, fundraising and membership organizations. He has led numerous training seminars for clients and the firm’s professionals on various topics relating to new accounting standards, governance, compliance and financial reporting.

In addition to his professional activities, Thomas continues to hone his expertise in nonprofit accounting as a faculty member at New York University. He is also regularly published in nonprofit-related publications, discussing governance and financial reporting challenges faced by the sector.

“I’m very proud of Sibi’s accomplishment. His selection to the CPA Practice Advisor’s ‘40 Under 40 in the Accounting Profession’ is a great accolade in recognition of his contributions to our profession,” says Michael McNee, PIC of the firm’s nonprofit and government group.
