Chicago-based Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP (FY15 net revenue of $478.1 million) is enhancing its national forensic, litigation and valuation services (FLVS) platform with the addition of a team from the former consulting business unit of Chicago-based financial services firm Mesirow Financial (Mesirow).
The firm says the addition of these practitioners increases the breadth and depth of services Baker Tilly offers its growing legal and corporate client base. “This high-performing team complements our broad range of FLVS offerings, greatly enhancing our ability to serve clients facing the largest, most complex disputes,” says Baker Tilly FLVS practice leader Tony Fuller.
The team will continue to be led by Jack Williams. “We are excited to join the impressive group already in place at Baker Tilly,” he says. “Our focus on the largest bankruptcy, restructuring and other business disputes aligns well with Baker Tilly’s vision – and most importantly, is a great cultural fit for the team.”
The other partners joining from Mesirow are Susan Seabury, Michael Deeba, Kevin McColgan, Adam Ortega and Anne Rasho Vanderkamp.
Baker Tilly CEO-Elect Alan Whitman says, “The addition of these highly sought after professionals will raise the national profile of our FLVS team and result in synergies with other practices across the firm to help deliver the highly specialized services our clients expect.”
Combined, Baker Tilly’s FLVS practice has 13 partners, along with over 30 additional dedicated professionals located in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. The national team offers a wide range of complex commercial dispute, valuation, forensic investigation and monitoring services across the country.
Twenty of the top 25 law firms on The American Lawyer’s Am Law 100 list have trusted Baker Tilly’s FLVS practitioners to support favorable outcomes for their corporate clients, including testifying over 400 times in over 30 states, the firm says.
