Washington Firms Merge to Form Hearthstone CPA Group

Two firms in Bremerton, Wash. – Hurley, Williams & Cook and Ball & Treger – merged in December to form Hearthstone CPA Group, one of the larger CPA firms in the greater Puget Sound region, the Bremerton Patriot reported.

“We view this merger as a significant benefit for clients of both firms, as well as our employees. We remain committed to continuing to support all of our clients with their tax, accounting and auditing needs,” the company stated in a press release. “Our clients will have increased levels of services and expertise and our firm’s employees will have additional opportunities for growth and expansion. By building on both firm’s strengths and reputations as CPAs in our community we will be able to continue to attract the most talented professionals in the industry.”

The combined firms will employ 23 staff including 16 CPAs.

Hurley Williams & Cook was established in 1986, and Ball & Treger was founded in 1979. Both firms handle business auditing, accounting, tax and management advisory services, as well as individual tax planning and preparation.

Ball & Treger will be moving its office to the Hurley Williams & Cook location sometime around June 1.
