Gettry Marcus Welcomes NYC Firm MLGW LLP

Woodbury, N.Y.-based Gettry Marcus CPA (FY14 net revenue of $17 million) and MLGW LLP of New York have announced a merger of the two CPA firms, effective Jan. 1.

The combined firm will operate under the Gettry Marcus name. The merger is part of Gettry Marcus’ strategic plan to expand its New York City presence.

MLGW was founded in 1972 as a full-service accounting firm that offered a broad range of services for a variety of industries.  In MLGW, Gettry Marcus has found a firm with synergy, whose philosophy and commitment to quality and personal service is closely aligned with its own.

Peter S. Marx, Bruce T. Lange and Lester Weingarten will join Gettry Marcus as partners, along with 10 staff members, and will continue to provide services to their existing clients as well as new Gettry Marcus clients. Additionally, through this merger, Gettry Marcus will add a new niche practice area, financial services, which will enhance their already comprehensive capabilities.

“This merger will provide benefits to the clients and employees of both firms,” says Steven Marcus, MP of Gettry Marcus. “Gettry Marcus has the infrastructure needed to operate in a competitive environment. We will work together as one firm continuing the tradition for excellent service, deep expertise and our promise to bring value to our clients.”
