MP of Kernutt Stokes Again Elected Chair of AGN International-North America

Warren Barnes

Warren Barnes, MP of Kernutt Stokes (FY15 net revenue of $11 million) of Eugene, Ore., is the new chair of AGN International-North America, Inc. (AGN-NA), the association announced.

Barnes has served on the AGN-NA executive committee continuously since 2006, and previously chaired the board in 2010. He is only the third board member in AGN’s 40-year history to repeat as board chair. He was elected at the fall North American board of directors meeting in Vancouver, B.C., held in conjunction with the AGN International, Ltd. World Congress.

Barnes’ second term occurs during an unprecedented time of change for AGN’s North American region.

“The association experienced a major transition in mid-2014 when Malcolm Ward was hired as the global CEO; our longtime executive director, Rita Hood, has announced her retirement effective May 31, 2016,” Barnes says. “I’m glad to be able to assist and support both of these transitions to assure seamless member service and collaboration in the North American region of AGN.”

As AGN-NA chair, Barnes will preside at meetings of the North American region’s board of directors and executive committee beginning Jan. 1. He succeeds Gary Katz, MP of Logan Katz of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, who has served as chair for the last 12 months.

Also elected to AGN-NA’s 2016 executive committee:

Carl Coburn, vice chair (MP, Cincinnati-based Clark Schaefer Hackett, FY15 net revenue of $63.6 million)
Carol Villemaire, treasurer (MP, Gainesville, Fla.-based James Moore & Co., FY14 net revenue of $16.2 million)
Bradley P. Lusk, secretary (MP, Sisterson & Co. of Pittsburgh, Pa.)

AGN-NA currently has 43 firms as members of the North American region, including 38 CPA firms in the U.S., three firms in Canada and one firm in Mexico. It is part of AGN International, Ltd., which has 180 member firms in 86 countries.
