Stowe & Degon of Westborough, Mass., announced the addition of Inez Mello as director of its state and local tax (SALT) division.

Prior to becoming a multi-state tax consultant, Mello has served in various director roles for several CPA firms throughout New England. In this capacity, she helped establish and grow their SALT practices as well as oversee all multi-state and local tax issues.

Mello has over 25 years of state and local tax experience. Her areas of expertise include all facets of multi-state and local tax planning and compliance. She leads numerous seminars and education symposiums for CPE, Inc., Lorman Education Services and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs.

She is chair of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs State Taxation Committee and serves on the Rhode Island Society of CPAs State Taxation Committee. Mello served on CCH’s National State Tax Advisory Board. She also serves as an adjunct professor for Bryant University and Johnson & Wales University. She is Bryant University’s Graduate Multi-State Tax Professor and received the Graduate School of Business Award for Outstanding MST Faculty.
