Prager Metis Celebrates 50th Anniversary in LA

New York-based Prager Metis CPAs (FY14 net revenue of $35.6 million) is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its office in Los Angeles.

Prager Metis recently hosted a cocktail party recently with clients, friends and staff to celebrate the milestone.

Prager Metis predecessor firm Prager and Fenton first opened its doors in New York in 1920. During the mid-1960s the firm opened its first Los Angeles office on Vine Street in Hollywood.

Prager Metis currently has two Los Angeles-area locations, one in El Segundo, Calif., and one in West Los Angeles. “We are very proud to have worked with clients in the Los Angeles community for 50 years,” says Joseph Rust, PIC of the Los Angeles office. “Our continued commitment to serving our West Coast clients has only deepened in the last 50 years and will continue to grow.”

Prager and Fenton had operated for almost 50 years, primarily in the music, media and entertainment industries in New York City. Then, in the mid-1960s, the British invasion in the music industry created an optimum time to expand into Los Angeles and London to further serve their clients. Prager and Fenton partner Joe Fenton was the first MP of the Los Angeles office. In 2015, Prager Metis merged with Bruce Kolbrenner & Co., further expanding its expertise in music and entertainment.
