New York-based EisnerAmper (FY15 net revenue of $284 million) has expanded its presence in Florida and California with two mergers of Ueltzen & Company and Mallah Furman & Company.

Sacramento-based Ueltzen & Company is a highly respected leader in forensic accounting and forensic technology investigations, and Mallah Furman is recognized as a premier firm in South Florida, EisnerAmper announced. The combinations became effective Nov. 15.

The Ueltzen partner group of Michael Ueltzen, John Moyle and Ramona Farrell, together with a team of 15 professionals and staff, will become part of EisnerAmper’s forensic, litigation and valuation services group. The Ueltzen professionals will continue to work out of their existing offices in Sacramento and Los Angeles. Ueltzen & Company provides a wide range of forensic services to law firm, corporate, governmental and accounting firm clients throughout the nation and California, as well as providing accounting, tax and valuation services.

Charles Weinstein, CEO of EisnerAmper, says, “The remarkably skilled professionals at Ueltzen & Company have set the highest standard in forensic accounting services including expert witness and consulting services at trial, mediation, arbitration and settlement negotiation sessions.”

Firm founder Michael Ueltzen says, “For almost two decades, our firm has served clients nationally and throughout California, and I am proud of the successes we have achieved together. On behalf of my colleagues, I am truly looking forward to the opportunities for growth we have in front of us as we become part of EisnerAmper, a firm with extraordinary capabilities.”

Phil Whitman, president of Whitman Business Advisors, and R. Peter Fontaine, MP of NewGate Partners, advised on the transaction.

Members of the Mallah Furman shareholder group, Gary Dix, Barry Gould, Joe Berkovits, Curt Rosner, Arthur Unger and David Sloan, together with a team of more than 60 professionals and staff, will become part of EisnerAmper and maintain their offices in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Mallah Furman has deep industry expertise, serving clients in insurance, hospitality, professional services, construction and real estate, retail and telecom, among other industries.

Dix, Mallah Furman’s MP, says, “When our clients make business decisions, they count on us to be their trusted advisor. We listen to and understand their needs. Now, as part of EisnerAmper, we will be able to bring an amazing array of new resources to them to help them meet their goals.”

Gould, the Mallah Furman COO, has been named PIC of EisnerAmper’s Florida locations.

In speaking about the addition of Mallah Furman, EisnerAmper’s Weinstein says, “This next step affirms our growth strategy of striving to add the best people and finest resources to the firm in exciting and vibrant marketplaces.”
