DeLeon & Stang Partner Appointed to AICPA Committee

DeLeon & Stang of Gaithersburg, Md., has announced that founding partner Allen DeLeon was recently appointed to the AICPA’s Private Company Practice Section Technical Issues Committee.

“I know the Technical Issues Committee members, including myself, are committed to ensuring that standard setters understand and consider the local/regional firm viewpoint when developing new standards and providing guidance and educating practitioners from these firms about emerging technical issues that will affect their practices,” DeLeon says.

TIC’s scope routinely includes proposals issued by the following standard-setting bodies: FASB, GASB, ASB (auditing standards for non-issuers), PEEC (ethics) and ARSC (preparation, compilation and review standards). TIC has also contributed to AICPA comment letters to other standard-setters, such as the GAO or the IAASB, and occasionally provides input on selected, proposed AICPA Technical Practice Aids and other AICPA accounting or auditing non-authoritative publications.
