IAPA, a global association of independent accountancy/business advisory firms, named Stephen Hamlet as its new CEO.

Hamlet joins IAPA after 6 years with BKR International as regional executive director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He replaces Susan Humphry, who retires after 11 years in post.

“IAPA has already achieved a significant presence within the international profession, ranking amongst the top 25 groupings in terms of the total fee income of its membership,” says Hamlet. “I am delighted to have this opportunity to lead IAPA into the next phase of development. My particular focus will be on consolidating membership in key business locations, maximising membership benefits through promotion of the IAPA brand and the development of an expanding range of practical services to encourage new business generating opportunities for our members.”

Chairman Helmi Talib welcomed the appointment commenting, “Stephen’s experience will bring new ideas and energy to our association, helping us to build on IAPA’s past successes in term of membership growth and professional interaction between our member firms. With 220 members in over 70 countries, IAPA offers real potential to any firm wishing to support its international client base with reliable, timely and cost-effective solutions.”
