Armanino Admits New Consulting Partner to Governance Risk and Compliance Practice

San Ramon, Calif.-based Armanino LLP (FY14 net revenue of $129.5 million) admitted Eric Weis as consulting partner. He will join the firm’s governance risk & compliance (GRC) practice where he will focus on internal audit, risk management and SOX consulting. Armanino’s GRC practice creates efficiencies for clients by designing an outsource/co-source solution for both operational and financial risk and compliance programs.

“We are excited for Eric to join us after having worked on risk management, SOX and internal audit engagements with more than 60 companies in the Bay Area,” says Tom Mescall, PIC of consulting at Armanino. “With experience in a variety of industries and company stages from start up to Fortune 100, Eric will provide our clients with expertise for a diversity of business challenges.”

Before joining Armanino, Weis was a partner at Crowe Horwath where he focused on risk services including internal audit outsourcing and co-sourcing, SOX compliance and best practices in IT governance. He has also held a variety of GRC roles at Deloitte, PwC and Ernst & Young.

“Armanino first caught my eye because of its tremendous consulting practice growth. As the leading California-based independent public accounting firm, they have developed an excellent reputation as an entrepreneurial powerhouse while providing quality service to clients,” says Weis. “I look forward to working with clients on creating customized GRC solutions that fit their specific business needs.”
