EKS&H Expands to California

Denver-based EKS&H (FY14 net revenue of $81.2 million) has been located solely in Colorado since inception in 1978. But soon it will make its first out-of-state expansion, according to the Denver Business Journal.

It will open an office in San Francisco, says Bob Hottman, CEO of EKS&H which has offices in Denver, Fort Collins and Boulder, Colo.

“One of the things important to us was to continue to build relationships with private equity firms,” says Hottman. “San Francisco is one location with a number of firms that we are already working with. Rather than try to find someone out there, we are using a building strategy rather than acquire strategy.”

For now, California is the only out-of-state expansion planned. But Hottman said he is keeping his eye on Texas, according to the journal.
