New York-based WeiserMazars LLP (FY13 net revenue of $142.4 million) announced that as part of its ongoing national expansion of the health care practice it has named principal Debra Bornstein as the new leader of the health care practice replacing Ken Fischer.
“As a leading change facilitator in this era of sweeping health care reform, we felt it was important to continue to expand our capabilities to best serve our existing and future health care industry clients,” says Victor Wahba, CEO of WeiserMazars. “Our commitment to this sector can be seen by the sustained growth we have experienced in this practice area over the past few years – we have already tripled the size of our health care practice in terms of revenue and dedicated professionals, and expanded our core products and services. Debra is the right person to lead in the practice’s continued expansion and in ensuring that our clients’ needs are fully met at all levels.”
Bornstein has more than 20 years’ experience in health care and was a pioneer in establishing risk/value based contracting in the New York Metropolitan area. She has a diverse set of skills serving both providers and payors, with an expertise in managed care contracting, strategic planning, medical cost trending and operational transaction management.
“The current market forces are driving changes that are unprecedented in scope, and affect all providers and payors,” says Bornstein. “I am delighted to take on the leadership role for this dynamic practice group as we strive to augment our skillsets on a national platform.”
