The Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) announced that Amy Pitter has joined the association as CEO. Pitter will join the MSCPA from her previous role as the Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR).

“The MSCPA is thrilled to announce that Amy Pitter will be taking the helm as CEO,” says Bill Mahoney, chairman of the board of the MSCPA. “Her background and existing professional relationships with many of our members will make her an invaluable leader in our ongoing and future initiatives to further the mission of the MSCPA and aid us in providing top notch legislative, technical, continuing professional education and referral services to our members.”

Prior to joining the MSCPA, Pitter served as Commissioner of the Massachusetts DOR. During her time at DOR, Pitter was responsible for overseeing nearly 2,000 DOR employees across the state. While at DOR, Pitter worked closely with Revenue Committee co-chair Rep. Jay Kaufman, who is thrilled to see Pitter take on this new role at the MSCPA. “I can think of no better candidate than Amy to lead the MSCPA going forward. I have no doubt that her vision for the association and genuine desire to help its members grow will be a huge asset to everyone she encounters.”

“As CEO, I’m looking forward to engaging with and increasing our membership, while highlighting our position as a local association focused on Massachusetts,” says Pitter. “At the MSCPA, our members are our priority and we will work consistently to make sure we’re serving our members in the best way possible.”
