New York-based CohnReznick LLP (FY14 net revenue of $508.2 million) has named Michelle Fleishman, a principal, as general counsel for the firm.

Fleishman has served as associate counsel for the past seven years. She assumes the new position from John Conover, who has held the role of general counsel for 16 years.

Fleishman joined the firm in 2008 after 15 years of experience in private practice, where she gained extensive experience in commercial litigation, insurance coverage and reinsurance and general business matters.

“Michelle has been a tremendous advocate and sounding board for the firm,” says Ken Baggett, co-CEO. “She has been integral to our success with combination transactions, risk management, compliance and numerous sensitive matters. We look forward to her continued guidance and leadership as general counsel.”

Conover will continue to serve as a member of the firm’s in-house legal team on a reduced schedule through the rest of the fiscal year, ending Jan. 31, 2016, when he will retire.

“John has epitomized the term ‘trusted advisor’ in his career at this firm,” says Tom Marino, co-CEO. “We have all benefitted greatly from his counsel over the years.”

The firm’s executive committee voted on Fleishman’s promotion, which was effective Feb. 1.
