BKD Makes Magazine List of Companies With Effective Training Programs

Springfield, Mo.-based BKD LLP (FY14 net revenue of $445.3 million) has placed 57th on Training magazine’s 2015 Training Top 125 list, which ranks companies by the effectiveness of their employee development programs. BKD – the only CPA and advisory firm on the Top 125 list – moved up 32 spots from last year, the firm announced.

“BKD is pleased to be chosen as a top training organization for the second straight year,” says CEO Ted Dickman. “As part of our commitment to unmatched client service, the firm is dedicated to constantly enhancing our team’s technical expertise and professional development. It’s an honor to be recognized for our efforts.”

This is the 15th year for the Training Top 125. To be considered, companies must complete a detailed application. Judges determine the finalists by assessing a variety of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, development programs and how closely programs relate to business goals and objectives.

BKD attributes its new rank to a better alignment of its business mission and organizational objectives with the effectiveness of its learning programs in every category.

“This award reflects how passionate the entire BKD team is about improving our employee training and development programs,” says Greg Cole, director of the firm’s learning and development department. “Our Top 125 peers are all world-class training organizations, and the insights we receive from them are invaluable in helping us improve our own programs.”

BKD’s training and development programs include BKD University (BKDU), an online platform that provides personnel access to a range of educational content, including technical training and video clips about leadership, ethics, client service and technology. The firm also regularly conducts Camp BKD, a week-long orientation providing technical and nontechnical training to enhance client service behaviors and results.
