William Monks joined New York-based CohnReznick LLP (FY14 net revenue of $508.2 million) as a director based in the firm’s Edison, N.J., office. As a director in CohnReznick advisory group, he will lead its corporate investigations and anti-corruption advisory area, and will also be active in construction consulting and integrity monitoring services.

“William’s combined experience as a CPA, forensic accountant and Special Agent of the FBI will be a vital differentiator as he provides clients with corporate investigative and litigation and dispute services,” says Kevin Clancy, CohnReznick advisory group partner and restructuring, litigation and transactional advisory national director.

Monks’ recent experience includes leading corporate investigations for a global forensic accounting firm involving widespread procurement fraud, asset misappropriation, financial statement fraud and violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other regulations. He also served clients by assessing internal controls, identifying associated risks and providing recommendations for remediation and overall compliance program improvement.

While at the FBI, William worked on sophisticated white collar forensic matters involving fraud, bribery and corruption. He also initiated and managed fraud investigations of entities in the manufacturing, transportation, energy and sanitation industries.
