David Moynihan, partner in Pittsford, N.Y.-based The Bonadio Group’s (FY14 net revenue of $68.3 million) Syracuse office, died Jan. 9, according to Syracuse.com.

Moynihan, 59, had been battling cancer. He is survived by his wife and daughter.

John Marshall, an MP in The Bonadio Group,  said the firm is grieving.

“We will miss him very much,” says Marshall. “He was a gregarious man with a great personality, and he had that gift of Irish gab. And so he had many, many friends.”

He was an audit partner with the firm, specializing in government and not-for-profit clients. Among his clients were the city of Syracuse and the Syracuse City School District.

Funeral details will soon be released.
