CPAs Graydon and Thompson Launch New Accounting Firm

Phyllis Graydon and Greg Thompson have announced the formation of Graydon Thompson LLC of Greenville, S.C., a firm designed to offer individuals and organizations across the Carolinas a “high-expertise, high-touch alternative” to other accounting and consulting firms in the region.

Launching with a team of eight professionals and “a significant client base,” the firm is designed to “provide high-level expertise and insight that savvy individuals and fast-growing organizations seek from their accounting partner today, but delivered with the personal touch, accessibility and warmth that all of us want – and too rarely find – in our professional services providers,” says Graydon, who will head the firm’s tax and advisory services group.

“We have hand-selected a team of highly experienced and service-oriented professionals who bring technical experience from major regional firms, Big 4 firms and industry to meet the needs of clients right from the start,” says Thompson. “Most importantly, we understand that while other firms can also offer technical capability, successful individuals and organizations truly want insight and expertise to help them achieve greater success, delivered with a personal commitment to service that far exceeds what most regional and national players can offer.”

Both Graydon and Thompson are former partners in the Greenville office of Columbia, S.C.-based Scott and Company CPAs.

Graydon has more than 25 years of tax experience serving individuals and both closely held and publicly traded organizations. Her industry experience includes service to clients in banking, real estate, professional services, manufacturing and health care during a career with Arthur Andersen, KPMG, Deloitte and several regional firms.

Thompson will head Graydon Thompson’s assurance and advisory services team. He has more than two decades of experience in both industry and public accounting, having served as reporting manager for two different publicly traded companies, a corporate controller for a textile manufacturing company, CFO for a Southeastern building products manufacturer and several years with an international accounting firm.
