Chicago-based Baker Tilly Virchow Krause (FY14 net revenue of $327.8 million) announced the election of Alan Whitman to serve as CEO upon the completion of Timothy Christen’s term in June 2016. Currently, Whitman holds the role of OMP of Detroit.

Following his tenure as CEO of Baker Tilly, Christen will assume the responsibilities as vice chair of the AICPA. Christen’s role as vice chair will consist of more than 1,000 volunteer hours and will be part of his three-year term on the AICPA’s board of directors.

“Alan’s election is part of a well-organized, three-year strategic succession plan designed to ensure continuity of leadership as we advance our agenda for excellence,” says Christen. “He has the most refined global vision of anyone in the firm, and has equally strong business acumen.”
