Illinois CPA Society Names 2014 Women to Watch Award Recipients

The Illinois CPA Society is honoring three of its members with the 10th annual Women to Watch awards, in recognition of their notable contributions to the accounting profession, their organizations and the development of women as leaders.

The award recipients are set to be honored Nov. 13 at the Illinois CPA Society’s Women’s Leadership Breakfast, where they will also take part in a panel discussion about balancing work and life, supervising multiple generations and supporting the advancement of women in the accounting profession. The 2014 Women to Watch award recipients include the following professionals:

Experienced Leader Category:

Angela Hickey is the executive director of Chicago law firm Levenfeld Pearlstein LLC. A member of the firm’s executive committee and compensation committee, she oversees the firm’s financial and operational functions, including business development, marketing, human resources and technology. A communication-focused leader, she has hosted Ask Angie sessions to offer attorneys and staff meaningful financial and operational updates.

Kristie Paskvan serves as Mesirow Financial’s CFO and as president of the firm’s retirement plan advisory business. She serves as a steering committee member of Mesirow Financial’s Women Connect, a professional development group formed to connect, educate and empower women.

Emerging Leader Category:

Annie Kolman is an assurance senior manager at New York-based Ernst & Young LLP (FY13 revenue of $9.1 billion) where she serves one of the largest, integrated oil and gas companies in the world and leads one of the largest engagement teams in Chicago. At EY, Kolman has served as the Pan-Asian professional network leader and professional women’s network events committee chair, organizing affinity group networking events.
