Baker Newman Noyes and William Steele & Associates Plan to Join Forces

Portland, Maine-based Baker Newman Noyes (BNN) (FY13 net revenue of $27.7 million) announced that William Steele & Associates, PC (WSA) of Manchester, N.H., will join its practice on Jan. 1. At that time, employees of WSA will relocate to the downtown Manchester, N.H., office of BNN.

“WSA has built a reputation for providing outstanding service to clients and that is what BNN is all about,” says Ellie Baker, BNN MP. “This move adds experienced colleagues to our highly regarded and thriving tax practice, providing our clients with even greater access to talent and resources. All around, this is an exciting next step in our growth plan.”

WSA founder William Steele Jr., who will become a tax principal of BNN along with current WSA partner Thomas Musgrave, says, “This is a ‘win-win’ for WSA, BNN and the valued clients of both of our firms. We look forward to being part of a firm that shares our high standards of client service and community leadership. Our team sees value in expanding our ability to serve our loyal client base in all areas beyond tax planning and compliance. Moreover, we will have greater access to professional development opportunities and operational efficiencies.”

The union occurs on the 20th anniversary of the formation of BNN. “Over the coming months we will be working together to support a successful integration,” Baker added.
