17-Year Old Girl Receives CPA License

Belicia Cespedes, a 17-year-old girl from Idaho, has become the youngest known CPA in the country after earning a bachelor’s degree, passing the CPA exam and completing two years of part-time work experience under a licensed CPA, according to the Santa Clarita Valley Signal.

Cespedes, along with her three sisters, were home schooled in an intense, accelerated program where she graduated high school at age 13. She then began to work toward a bachelor’s degree in accounting. While doing this, she worked part-time under a CPA for two years.

When it came time to prepare for the exam, Cespedes studied for 12-14 hours a day. While she failed her first two attempts, she passed on her third try and became a fully licensed CPA. She will now work for her father’s company as a CPA.
