Springfield, Mo.-based BKD LLP (FY14 net revenue of $445.3 million) announced that Rob Pruitt has been named the firm’s new national tax director, effective Aug. 1. He succeeds former national tax director Patrick Malayter, who retired from the firm in June.

“Rob has spent many years developing his skills as a leader, and his focus on delivering unmatched client service is evident every day,” says Ted Dickman, CEO. “He will play an integral role in the firm’s strategic growth initiatives and knows how to most effectively draw on the widespread tax talent throughout our firm to accomplish our objectives.”

Pruitt is MP of the firm’s Indianapolis and Bloomington, Ind., offices and has more than 22 years of public accounting experience. He has worked on tax planning for closely held and multinational corporations, including analysis of tax issues affecting mergers and acquisitions.

“The continued success of our tax practice will come down to recruiting, developing and retaining our tax talent at BKD,” says Pruitt. “I feel very fortunate that I have been given this opportunity from the firm to go back to where I started my career 22 years ago.”
