New York-based Citrin Cooperman (FY13 net revenue of $133 million) announced that Sylvie Gadant has joined the firm as a partner. Gadant will work closely with the firm’s private equity initiative and numerous industry groups to lead the transaction advisory services (TAS) practice and assist buyers, lenders and sellers involved in mergers or acquisitions.

Citrin Cooperman says it is commited to building a cross-discipline transaction advisory services team to provide buy-side and sell-side solutions to private equity firms, family offices and strategic buyers. “Sylvie is a seasoned professional with the specific skills that many of our current clients need and future clients will demand,” says Joel Cooperman, MP at Citrin Cooperman.

Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Gadant was the PIC of the transaction advisory services practice at Roseland, N.J.-based Rothstein Kass (FY13 net revenue of $202 million). In this role, she led private equity firms and other strategic buyers through complex due diligence engagements while counseling others on their M&A strategies and a variety of technical accounting and reporting issues. Gadant and her team have advised clients on over 150 transactions valued between $5 million and $300 million, including platform investments, add-on acquisitions, leveraged recapitalizations, carve-outs, and minority investments.

“In the next 12 to 18 months, we expect M&A activity to increase and become even more competitive,” says Pat Cummings, partner and private equity practice leader at Citrin Cooperman. Companies need to have highly skilled advisors that are capable of helping them compete in this marketplace.”
