Weaver Promotes Seven Professionals to Partner

Fort Worth, Texas-based Weaver (FY13 net revenue of $83.4 million) announced the promotions of the following professionals to partner: Carrie Hardison, tax and strategic business services; Lisa Head, tax and strategic business services; Andrew Johnston, assurance services; Laura Lambert, assurance services; Jeff Murlette, tax and strategic business services; Mostafa Popal, assurance services and Gregory Staiti, energy compliance and consulting services.   “We are pleased to promote these valued employees to partner,” says Tommy Lawler, Weaver’s MP and CEO. “Each of them has demonstrated strong technical ability and leadership during their time with the firm, and they continue their commitment to provide outstanding service to our clients. Hardison, a partner in tax and strategic business services in Fort Worth, has been a key component in the growth of Weaver’s financial services practice in North Texas with her experience serving private equity and hedge funds. Her emphasis is in taxation compliance and planning for a variety of industries including oil and gas, financial services and manufacturing.

Head, partner in tax and strategic business services in Dallas,has been exclusively focused on the unique and challenging taxation requirements of investment companies and hedge funds. She has contributed to the rapid growth of the firm’s financial services practice, particularly in the hedge fund sector.

Johnston, partner in assurance services in Houston, has developed expertise in energy services, manufacturing, construction and real estate. His concentration is on audit and review engagements for both private and public companies.

Lambert, partner in assurance services in Houston, has been an integral part of the firm’s financial services, renewable/energy compliance and public sector industry practices. Her emphasis includes audit, review, compilation, attestation and business advisory consulting engagements for governmental, broker-dealer and investment management/hedge fund clients.

Murlette, partner in tax and strategic business services in Dallas, has been an integral part of the formalization of the wealth strategies group, specifically in the estate, gift and trust (EGT) area, where he currently serves as director of compliance.

Popal, partner in assurance services in Dallas, has worked with both private and publicly held companies in a multitude of industries, primarily manufacturing/distribution, energy, retail, technology and gaming. He has in-depth expertise in energy, manufacturing/distribution and employee benefit plans, including SEC-related engagements.

Staiti, partner in energy compliance services in Stamford, Conn., has more than 15 years of experience in various roles in the energy industry—from field technician, to environmental consultant, to energy/environmental lawyer. Staiti has experience in Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and state regulations that are critical to Weaver’s energy compliance services practice. He specializes in EPA and California Air Resources Board compliance and fuels consulting for the petroleum and renewable fuels industry.
