KPMG & Xero Limited Form Strategic Alliance

Accounting software company Xero Limited has announced a strategic alliance with KPMG in the United Kingdom.

Under the alliance,  Xero’s online accounting platform is expected to play a central role in the formation of a new KPMG division, which will provide select online accounting and tax services to small and medium-sized enterprises using the cloud. Interested businesses will be able to sign up for the services starting in May.

“It is very gratifying that an organization of KPMG’s standing selected Xero to be its technology platform partner for their online services, confirming our belief that cloud accounting is fast becoming the default platform for both accounting firms and small businesses,” says Xero managing director, Gary Turner.

 

Firm to Open Office in Harrisburg, Pa.

Lancaster, Pa.-based Reinsel Kuntz Lesher (RKL) (FY12 net revenue of $37.1 million), an IPA 100 firm, is opening a new Harrisburg, Pa., office in early May under the leadership of newly appointed OMP Wade Becker.

RKL has expanded its geographic presence over the past two years to meet growing demand among small- to middle-market, privately held companies for accounting, tax and business consulting services.

RKL CEO Edward Monborne says the firm is looking forward to being closer to clients in the capital area and to developing new business relationships. “We believe there’s significant opportunity in this market for an accounting and business consulting firm with the breadth and depth of capabilities that RKL uniquely offers.”

The 10,000-square-foot office provides space for up to 45 and is located in downtown Harrisburg’s Strawberry Square. The new office will be home to professionals from throughout the firm’s various practices including audit/accounting, tax and business consulting.

 

O’Connor Davies Moving to New Location

The Ashforth Company announced that Harrison, N.Y.-based O’Connor Davies (FY12 net revenue of $84.5 million) has chosen a new Stamford, Conn., location. The firm will move about 40 employees from its current Stamford office on Southfield Avenue into 11,000 square feet on Summer Street.

Ashforth recently completed a dramatic, multi-million dollar renovation of the space at the end of 2012.
