IFAC Launches Global Knowledge Gateway

The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) has launched the Global Knowledge Gateway, a platform designed to bring together news, views, resources and thought leadership for the worldwide accountancy profession.

“We recognized that there was no single hub that collates and shares industry insights, ideas and information while connecting the worldwide community of accountants,” says Fayez Choudhury, CEO of IFAC. “We wanted to leverage our position as the global accountancy organization and create a venue that provides access to helpful resources, keeps users informed on accountancy issues and news, and encourages discussion and debate.”

The Gateway includes six key components:

  • Viewpoints—Leaders of the accountancy and business communities share their perspectives on the profession and other relevant hot topics.
  • Accountancy News—Headlines from a variety of media outlets and online press rooms.
  • Resources—Topics feature filterable resources from IFAC, member bodies, and other relevant organizations, with descriptions and links to original sources.
  • Discussions—Topical questions and views inspire and encourage debate and conversation among the global accounting community.
  • Topical News—Headlines within topic areas.
  • Upcoming Events—Highlights of key events and conferences worldwide.


Gettry Marcus Joins New Global Organization

Woodbury, N.Y.-based Gettry Marcus (FY12 net revenue of $16.1 million), an IPA Top 200 firm, has been admitted as the first U.S. member firm of TGS Global and appointed to the organization’s executive board. Formed in 2012, TGS Global, an international network of firms, currently has representation in 48 locations in 28 countries.

“We are excited about increasing our international presence and working with the other TGS member firms,” says Steven Marcus, MP of Gettry Marcus. “We look forward to the opportunity of helping the organization develop the North American market, as well as shaping the future direction of the organization.
