Weaver Merges with RIN Attest and Advisory Services

Fort Worth, Texas-based Weaver (FY13 net revenue of $83.4 million), an IPA 100 firm, acquired RIN Attest and Advisory Services, of Stamford, Conn., effective early Jan., 2014.This merger enhances Weaver’s expertise in the energy compliance and renewables industry. David Bennett, who founded RIN, joins Weaver as a partner in Weaver’s energy compliance services practice and will be based out of the firm’s Stamford, Conn., office.

Bennett’s practice specializes in attestations required under the Renewable Fuel Standard regulations, as well as renewable energy business intelligence solutions.

“David’s extensive experience in RFS attestation and compliance services will add great depth to our ECS practice,” says Wade Watson, PIC of energy compliance and renewables. “His expertise is an integral addition which supports our strategic goal of growing national recognition within the energy industry,” concludes Watson.

Bennett has worked extensively with more than 100 companies in the renewable fuel industry, providing in-depth guidance in support, as well as assuring compliance with EPA regulations.

Bennett brings more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, renewable energy, corporate finance and operations including Sarbanes-Oxley and the implementation of financial reporting systems.
