Connecticut Firm is Hacked, Up to 900 May Be Affected

As many as 900 clients of Lyons & Lyons of Ridgefield and Fairfield, Conn., may be affected by a data breach, the Ridgefield Press reported. The U.S. Secret Service, the Internal Revenue Service and the IRS’s Criminal Investigation unit are investigating and an arrest may be near. The suspected hacker “is not a current or former employee and is not a current or former client — that has been confirmed to us by the Secret Service,” partner David Lyons said. “I have no idea who the individual is at the time, but the suspect has no connection to the firm.” Lyons told the newspaper that his office is installing a new credit monitoring system to ensure a breach like this doesn’t happen again.
