BKD Celebrates 90 Years

Springfield, Mo.-based BKD (FY12 net revenue of $401.80 million) marked its 90th anniversary May 1 with a firmwide celebration reaffirming its standards: Integrity First, True Expertise, Professional Demeanor, Responsive Reliability and Principled Innovation. “An unwavering focus on unmatched client service has carried us through to the present, and we have much to celebrate,” says CEO Ted Dickman, the fifth partner to lead the firm. “BKD has accomplished a great deal over the last nine decades, but the best is yet to come.” BKD’s 2,000 employees received a new edition of the firm’s book, The BKD Experience: Unmatched Client Service. The firm was founded in January 1923 by William Baird, Wade Kurtz and Claire Dobson, who opened Baird, Kurtz & Dobson with offices in Kansas City and Joplin, Mo.
