AICPA Wins 2009 American Business Award ‘Stevie’

The AICPA won the American Business Award ‘Stevie’  for Communications Team of the Year.  The awards were presented June 23.

“On behalf of my 50 plus communications colleagues, I am particularly gratified when our team is recognized for its visionary communications leadership,” says Janice Maiman, AICPA vice president, communications.  “What is even more exciting is knowing that our team’s work effectively communicates the expertise of the multifaceted CPA knowledge base via media relations, member and internal communications, multimedia, advertising and magazines.  Every day our members educate Americans on financial literacy, offer strategic planning to small and medium sized business to protect their financial health and make senior level financial decisions in business and industry.”

Stevie Awards were presented in over 40 categories including Best Overall Company of the Year, Executive of the Year, and Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year.  More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.

More than 200 executives across the country participated in the judging process to determine the finalists and Stevie Award winners.
