Ohio Society of CPAs Launches Free Online Job Board

The Per Diem Job Board will connect Ohio CPAs who are available for contract assignments and part-time work with businesses that need accounting services and strategic counsel.

Society CEO Clarke Price said two main reasons for creating the job board were the economic downturn and the need for part-time CPA work. Though accounting and other finance jobs haven’t been as hard-hit by the recession as other professions, he said CPAs haven’t been immune to layoffs. Because many businesses have had to cut down their work forces, the job board will be able to help employers better manage tight budgets, he says.

Price described the new job board as a “very fluid approach to what we think is a growing phenomenon in the business world today” – that phenomenon being the need for financial expertise on a part-time basis.

More than 50% of the society’s members are not engaged in the industry of public accounting, so Price says that even within the organization the job board may generate networking opportunities for both CPAs and businesses. You may view the Job Board at: http://www.ohioscpa.com/Content/43636.aspx
